What do I need to look out for in the publishing editor?

When uploading a manuscript to the publishing editor, it will automatically process the file for you, splitting it into multiple chapters. In the publishing editor, you can make text-based edits, add, delete, or rearrange chapters, and reformat headers. Note that not all formatting from the original manuscript will be retained to ensure compatibility with AI audio narration. We recommend reviewing the following to create a great reading and audio experience for your readers on the ElevenReader app:

  • Ensure the manuscript is complete and that all chapters have been transferred to the publishing editor. If there are significant differences from the original manuscript, consider uploading a different file type or restarting the publishing editor to manually copy over the manuscript.
  • The first chapter or page view should include the book title and author information.
  • The table of contents can be deleted, as the reader can navigate through chapters directly within the ElevenReader app.
  • Chapter titles should be formatted using Heading 1–3 for better organization.
  • Detailed information that doesn’t translate well into audio can be moved to the back of the book.
  • Validate that the text doesn’t contain page references or unwanted artifacts, which can be removed directly in the editor.
  • Remove any unnecessary blank spaces in the text for a cleaner presentation.

These steps help ensure an optimal reading and listening experience for your audience on the ElevenReader app.
