What usage types exist in Music Marketplace?

When purchasing a song on Eleven Music Marketplace, you select a usage type.

The selected usage type determines the license you are purchasing that defines how you can use the song and any derivative works (such as remixes).

Social Media License

This license is intended for individual creators and personal content published on your own channels, including:

  • Social media platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X)
  • Monetized videos
  • Podcasts
  • Personal websites and portfolios

Paid Marketing License

This license is designed for business and commercial use. It includes everything in the Social Media License, and also allows use in:

  • Paid ads and digital marketing
  • Client, freelance, or agency projects
  • Commercial products and brand content

Offline License

This license includes everything in the Paid Marketing License, and also allows use in:

  • Live events and performances
  • Trade shows and conferences
  • Physical venues and installations
  • In-store or on-location playback

Enterprise License

This license is available exclusively to customers on the Enterprise plan. It allows the use of songs purchased from the Music Marketplace in accordance with the terms of your ElevenLabs Music Enterprise license, subject to the Forbidden Usage Types of Music Marketplace, defined below.

Forbidden Usage Types

The following uses are not permitted under any license:

  • Distribution to music streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, etc.)
  • Redistributing, reselling, sublicensing, or claiming ownership of the music
